SCHOOL REGISTRATION & APPLICATION
2010-2011 School Year Registration Information
FOR FAMILIES WHO DO NOT RESIDE WITHIN KENTER SCHOOL BOUNDARIES: Kenter’s Public Random (Lottery) Drawing Applications are available in February and March for students who do not reside within the Kenter Canyon School boundaries. The application will list the deadline to apply for the lottery as well as the drawing. The 2010-2011 lottery process has ended. The lottery is no longer an option for the coming school year. Families will be contacted if space becomes available at the grade level they need for their child. Selection of students is administered in accordance with LAUSD polices and our school’s Charter proposal.
FOR FAMILIES RESIDING WITHIN KENTER BOUNDARIES:
For families who provides proof of residency, registration packets for the 2010-2011 school year will be available for pick up in the Main Office beginning on Friday, May 21, 2010---in conjunction with Kenter's Kindergarten Howdy Day. The applications will be available to any new students in kindergarten through grade 5 who lives within the LAUSD established boundaries for our school. The registration packets may be returned for processing beginning June 1, 2010---the Tuesday following Memorial Day. Partial applications will not be accepted. Applications will be marked with the time and date in which they arrive back to the office “completed” and will be processed in order of receipt.
School hours for grades 1 - 5 are as follows
Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays 8:10 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursdays - 8:10 a.m. - 1:50 p.m.
KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
The registration process for Kindergarten families is the same as it is for grades 1-5. (as noted above) Kindergarten hours for the 2010-2011 school year are as follows:
Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays 8:10 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursdays - 8:10 a.m. - 1:50 p.m.
In addition to a completed LAUSD Enrollment form, the following items must be provided in order to enroll. Partial applications will not be accepted.
Requirements for Kindergarten:
• Proof of age (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, health/vital statistics, affidavit)
• Immunization records (mumps, measles, polio, etc.)
• PPD-mantoux skin test: Must be dated within one year from the first day of school if the child previously attended another school (if the mantoux skin test was done more than 365 days from the first day of school, it will need to be repeated.)
• Proof of residence (utility bill i.e., gas, light or water; rental agreement or contract lease agreement on embossed or stationery with logo; telephone bills are not acceptable.)
• Physical examination (must be done within one year from the first day of school); if examination was more than 365 or more from the first day of school,, it will need to be repeated.)
• Copy of IEP, if applicable.
Requirements for new students in grades 1-5:

• PAR (Pupil Accounting Report) from previous LAUSD School or Report card if attended a school other than LAUSD
• Copy of IEP if applicable.
Teacher and room assignments will be posted in front of the school as well as on the playgrounds at approximately 5:00 p.m. on the day before the first day of school as well as the first day of school.
