What is the Parent Support Group?

As a Charter School, we rely greatly on input, support and involvement from all our parents.  Your time, energy and financial contributions make many of our programs possible. The Parent Support Group is the fundraising body that provides the money for our enrichment programs, teaching assistants, equipment and supplies.  In 1983, parents at Kenter organized a non-profit corporation, the Parent Support Group, to raise money for art, music, drama, physical education, computers, teachers assistants and many other extras that enhance our school.  This is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization and donations to it are tax-deductible.  This Group is organized and run by parent volunteers who put on fundraisers and coordinate more than $350,000 raised annually.

 Dear Kenter Canyon Parents,

 Welcome back! We hope that you all have had a great summer!!

 VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!!

Kenter Canyon has a great volunteer network, with many outstanding and committed parents. Please support our school by stepping up and contributing your time and talents.

Head Room Parents - We must begin the Head Room Parent Selection process immediately to get these positions filled and our classroom Roster and Directory completed, so that we can start assisting our teachers in their important task of teaching our children. If you are interested in being the Head Room Parent for your class, you should be sure to read the So you think you'd like to be a Head Room Parent flyer for information on this very important position. You can find the Head Room Parent Application below. Please be sure to submit your application by Friday, August 17th at NOON (put it in the Head Room Coordinators cubby in the Main Office Parent Center).

 Classroom Volunteers - There are lots of other volunteer positions available in your childs classroom. Serving as head of a class committee is a great way to develop a relationship with your child's teacher and to meet the other parents in your classroom. Serving as a class liaison to other school committees enables you to meet other parents in the Kenter Canyon community. Please see the Classroom Volunteer Signup sheet (below) for job descriptions and decide for which ones you would like to volunteer.

 Please return the Class Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet in your child's Friday Folder no later than Monday, August 27, 2012.

Please also consider completing the Kenter Canyon Volunteer Interests and Skills Form to let Kenter PSG know that you want to become more involved. You can return it to the Membership Cubby in the Parent Center (Main Office).

PSG Meet n Greet:  Be sure to attend this very important event scheduled for Thursday, August 30 at 8:30 am in the Auditorium. There you will able to meet the PSG Board and Committee Chairs, and hear about the many opportunities available for you to get involved at Kenter.
