Kenter is proud to recognize the active participants in our Helping Hands program.  The Helping Hands program teaches children to resolve conflicts between positive communication skills and to promote peace throughout the school campus.  The students involved as Helping Hand Peace Patrols assist fellow students in mediating conflicts during recess and lunch.  Each Helping Hand Peace Patrol is assigned to only one recess or lunch period per week to assist their peers with conflict resolution.  If you would like your child to participate as a Helping Hand Peace Patrol, please complete the bottom section of the attached flyer and return to your child's homeroom teacher.

Incoming Kindergarteners

E-mail Print PDF

Kenter Canyon is pleased to provide parents of incoming Kindergarten students "Off to a Good Start", a very informative booklet published by The Parent Institute.

A big day is coming... and it's very exciting!  Can you believe it?  Your little one is about to start Kindergarten!  It's an exciting time for everyone.  He may already know his name, address, and phone number, but what else can you do to get him ready to learn?  This booklet is filled with lists of what your child should know and things to do at home to get him ready.  In it, you'll find everything from tips on promoting reading readiness to brain-boosting math activities.  You'll even discover ideas on how best to work with your child's school.  Remember:  you're not only your child's first teacher, you're also a partner in his education -- both in the classroom and at home.  Click the button below for the full booklet.
