Can't Teach an Empty Seat

E-mail Print PDF

image_emptychairCan't Teach an Empty Seat
Kenter Canyon would like to stress the importance of school attendance to all parents and encourage you to ensure your child comes to school every day and on time. Aside from important instruction time missed by your child, Kenter loses over $31 each day a student is absent. Absences in the 2011-2012 school year accounted for a total loss of nearly $94,000! The good news is, in addition to our year-over-year growth in student population, our average in-seat attendance rate has also gone up. Let's continue this trend so our kids receive as much valuable in-class instruction as possible and we minimize the financial loss to the school. Please read our formal Attendance Plan attached to see how Kenter plans to reach its attendance rate goal of 97.4%.

A new grand piano arrived to Kenter Canyon Elementary Charter School in September 2012 as a gift from Deborah Handelman, who was a longtime resident of West Hollywood, California. The gift was secured by the Music Guild of Los Angeles Piano Donation Program as part of their Instruments for Students program that The Music Guild has operated for over a decade.
