Principal's UPDATE

The LAUSD Board of Education has approved the "new" last day of school as June 19, 2012 for the current school year. This is four days earlier than originally scheduled.  June 20-25 have been designated as employee furlough days.

The first day of 2012-13 school year is scheduled for August 13, 2012 and the final day of the 2013 school year as June 1, 2013.

The age requirement for kindergarten students has changed and will be implemented in the state of California beginning July 1, 2012.

The new age requirements are as follows:

Children must be 5 years old on or before
--November 2, 2012 for the 2012-13 school year;
--October 2, 2013 for the 2013-14 school year;
--September 2, 2014 for the 2014-15 school year.

This FREE parent meeting series is open to parents of all GATE/SAS students and focuses on additional information regarding the social emotional needs of gifted learners. Here are the forms you need:

Only these Forms are required to be printed, filled-out, and returned to the school:

Enrollment Form for NEW Students - Directory System New Family form.
Student Emergency Information Forms
Acceptable Use Policy Agreement for Students (This is required and must be on file before a student can go to Computer Lab or use computers on campus.)
Kenter Restitution Policy
Kenter's Code of Conduct and 4-way Pledge

New Age Requirements for Kindergarten

AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT IN PUBLIC SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN

New California legislation requires that a child be 5 years of age on or before the following dates to be eligible for enrollment in public school kindergarten in the state of California.

November 2, 2012 for the 2012-2013 school year
October 2, 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year
September 2, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year.

Walking School Bus!

Save gas, get some exercise, and enjoy the fresh air! Join other Kenter families on the Walking School Bus every Monday morning at 7:30 am for the 1-mile group walk to school. What a great way to start the week and show our kids and our community a green, healthy, alternative way to get to school! See attached flyer for more details.
