PERFORMANCES

Peter Pan Is Coming To Kenter!
Final Performances will be December 4 and 5 at 6:30 p.m.

We would like to tell you about the awesome show we have planned for this year's fall production.  The show we are doing this year is “PETER PAN” and it is filled with lots of great parts for older and younger kids.  Every week your child will be immersed in Music, Dance and Acting classes, while working towards our production with a fabulous ArtReach script and awesome original music created by artists from across the USA.

Your hosts for this magical ride to NeverNeverLand will be Pocket Full of Tales Theatre Company with over 15 years experience in producing student roductions from coast to coast.   They’ll engage your child in a process based, exciting and inspiring learning experience that allows every child to participate on a level where they can succeed and build self esteem as well as performance training.

***Rehearsals will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 24 through December 3.

(For the benefit of the entire cast please be sure your child attends all rehearsals for the full two hours, their absence/early dismissal or late arrival affects the entire cast and inhibits their ability to be their best in our production)

***Final Performances will be December 4 and 5 at 6:30 p.m.

AUDITIONS:

This year everyone gets to audition for the lead roles.   So, whether your child is in 1st grade or fifth grade they can audition for any part they'd like.  In order to audition and be considered for a lead role they have to arrive on the first day with a short 30 second song ready to sing for us and they need to have memorized a short 30 second poem, speech or monologue to perform for us.  If they do not have these pieces ready for the first class, they cannot be considered for a lead role, no exceptions.  Preparing these pieces for audition is NOT a guarantee that they will receive a lead role, it only guarantees they will get an individual audition time for one.

If your child would like a smaller part in the show they can choose not to perform alone on the first day of class and take part in the larger group audition instead.  If they choose to go for a smaller role they do not need to memorize anything in advance.   They can just come to the first class and enjoy the group improvisational/theatre game/singing audition process that will allow us to see what characters they are best suited to play.

COSTUMES:

Parents are responsible for providing their child’s costume for the show.  You may purchase the costume from the websites on the list you will receive on the first day of class or you may choose to use the website photo as an example/pattern to bargain shop and buy or make one of your own with a crafty friend/relative.  The list provided in class is only a picture of what your child should be dressed like, there is no requirement to buy the exact costume suggested on the list.

NOTE FROM POCKET FULL OF TALES:

Whichever route your child chooses, they are sure to have a blast and fully enjoy the process of creating this fabulous show.  I hope you will all come out and sign up for Fall production because it is going to be tons of fun and you'll  get to work with all of your favorite teachers from last year again …Kristy, the Director;    Gary , the Music Director ;   Matthew, the Choreographer.

NOTE ABOUT ART/SET DESIGN:    Due to budget restraints we will have our set designer Sarah Krainin returning to design the set this year, but children will not be creating the sets or doing art in class.
