YOUTH SERVICES

Hours:  Dismissal from classes - 6:00pm
LAUSD's Beyond the Bell Branch provides a free of charge After-School Youth Services Program at Kenter for grades 2-5 students.  Their program does not include kindergarten or grade one students.   The program is a permissive recreational program.  “Permissive” means that there is no registration or application for participation.  It is implied that parents have granted permission for children to remain on the playground after school to socialize and engage in a variety of self-organized games and physical activities.  From time to time, weekend field trips are planned to theme parks, etc.   From 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., the YS participants go to Kenter Library for reading or homework assistance.  Children are expected to be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m.  Failure to comply may result in suspension from the program.

Participants are expected to obey the rules and regulations of the school and those established by Jason Hernandez, the after school playground supervisor.   For more information, contact Mr. Hernandez on the South Yard between dismissal and 5:00 p.m. or in the Library from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

*Children are not allowed to roam the campus after school unsupervised! Make sure your child knows where to go after classes are dismissed. Please arrange to pick up your child before 6:00pm, as there is no supervision after that time.
