ACCESS BOOKS DELIVERED TO INDEPENDENCE ELEMENTARY
The delivery of over 1500 books by Kenter families and staff to the Independence School Library was heartwarming. On Monday morning, Independence Elementary School students will walk into a library that had bare walls to one that now adorns beautifully painted murals of favorite book characters. The murals were painted by Kenter students, parents, and staff. Additionally, their library shelves are now filled with hundreds of additional books that have been sorted, cataloged with check-out pockets, and are now ready for check-out. Colleen Kaner, former Kenter parent, who oversaw the Access Book projects for several years, made a surprise visit with her kids and former students to add their special contributions to the effort. This year’s Chairperson, Chris Rogan, took great pride in the success of this year’s project and was proud of the ‘team” that represented our school.
